Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. is a multifamily focused, self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company’s segments include Same Store and Non-Same Store and Other. The Same Store segment represents apartment communities that have been owned and stabilized for at least 12 months. The Non-Same Store and Other segment also includes non-multifamily activities. The Company owns and operates approximately 296 apartment communities through the Mid-America Apartments, L.P. (Operating Partnership) and its subsidiaries.
